A Mittens for Detroit "Summer of Glove" Jr. Philanthropist Activity

Looking for a way to teach kindness and caring this summer? Run a Lemonade Stand for Mittens!

Summer is here, and it's time for kids to have fun! One way to help them enjoy the summer is to help them learn how to be a Jr. Philanthropist – learning how to give to others at an early age.

While it's hard to think about winter clothes when we are warm and enjoying the sun and fun, at Mittens for Detroit we are working on raising funds and awareness to help us provide as many pairs as possible to those in need of warm mittens and gloves this winter. We are always looking for new partners and new donors! One thing we know is that children LOVE helping children, and kids LOVE running lemonade stands in the summer months.

Several children have run lemonade stands to raise money for mittens in recent summers, and they had a great time. We invite you to join in our Summer of Glove by having your kids run a lemonade stand to help warm the hands of Detroit school kids this winter. Along with doing something kind and giving, they will learn some entrepreneurial skills running their own business!

Think of all of the places they can have a lemonade stand – mobile with their wagon or a traditional stand – a park, garage sale, a stroll through the neighborhood, the Woodward Dream Cruise... We suggest parental supervision for the stand, for all of the reasons you can imagine!

NOTE TO CHILDREN'S GROWN-UPS... If you want to get more information on how to run a charity lemonade stand, please contact us at Info@MittensForDetroit.org. We have a flyer for your kids to personalize. You can share this donation link with your friends, family, and put it on your lemonade sign: https://bit.ly/LemonadeStand4Mittens

NOTE TO DONORS... Please be sure to put the name of the kid's lemonade stand (or the kid's own name) in the memo section so that that we can track their impact for them!

We hope that you and your kids will join us in our mission. Thank you for your help and generosity. Thank you also for all that you do to make this a better world, warming hearts two hands at a time..

Thank you!
